Developer files plan for Fort Myers Beach resort!
It’s a new day for TPI Hospitality CEO Tom Torgerson as he filed his first formal application Thursday to develop a 10-plus acre resort in downtown Fort Myers Beach. TPI’s concept is a 10-acre resort campus whose centerpiece is a single brand, single-themed hotel, surrounded by a host of amenities. TPI had hoped to do a land swap with Lee County – some of its land in exchange for a piece of the county’s Seafarer’s Mall to put more hotel rooms there – but neither the county nor town would move to embrace the idea.
